Intel's Core 2 Duo processors. After struggling mightily with performance and power consumption problems in the latter-day Pentiums, Intel came roaring back with the Core 2 Duo, producing a chip that goes like stink without spinning the electric meter into a frenzy.Intel has formally launched 3 more quad-core processors that includes for first time to carry Intel Core 2 Quad processor brand name that has begun its expansions of Quad-core PC sales to the mainstream buyers.This Intel Core 2 Quad processor line will be targeting performance desktops and Gaming PCs and Intel also has highlighted its high definition video as its key application. The new Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 processor runs at 2.4 GHz with an 8MB L2 cache. This new processor is available for US $ 851.The only Quad-core desktop Intel has offered previously is its 2.6 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6700, which also has an 8MB L2 cache. This part is being sold for US $999. Intel has also announced two quad-core processors for single socket servers. Intel introduced the quad-core Intel Xeon Processor 3200 series for single-socket servers. Two new processors are available with clock speeds of 2.4 and 2.13 GHz with a 1066MHz front side bus and 8MB of L2 cache. Quad-core Intel Xeon processor pricing includes the X3220 (2.4GHz) at US$851 and the quad-core Intel Xeon Processor X3210 (2.13GHz) at US$690.Intel is now offering a total of nine quad-core processor versions in the desktop and enterprise market segment.

240 Pin DDR2 1100 MHz PC2 -8800

The DDR has 184 Pin DIMM, Single Notched, Two operations per clock cycle whereas the SDRAM has 168 Pin DIMM, Double Notched, One operation per clock cycle. In the latest motherboards, DDR is superseded by the newer DDR2 DIMMs. DDR2 can effectively operate at twice the bus speed of DDR.
